The Tower Social Link in Persona 3 features Mutatsu, a unique and cynical monk who spends his evenings at Club Escapade. Establishing a bond with him grants players access to powerful Arcana fusions and deeper character narrative progression. Understanding the specific prerequisites and conversation choices ensures you complete his story efficiently.
Unlocking the Tower Social Link with Mutatsu
To begin Mutatsu's Social Link, players must first reach Rank 4 with the Strength Social Link or Rank 3 with Chariot depending on their protagonist choice. Speaking with your classmate afterwards reveals rumors regarding an unusual monk hanging out at Paulownia Mall. You also need to meet the required Courage level threshold before entering the club at night.
Once inside Club Escapade, locate Mutatsu on the upper level and speak with him. He will send you down to the bartender on the ground floor to help process drink orders. The correct drink sequence is Margarita, Bloody Mary, Screwdriver, and Oolong Tea. Delivering the proper drinks back to Mutatsu completes the bartender request and officially starts the link.
Optimal Dialogue Choice Answers for Mutatsu
Advancing Mutatsu's ranks requires selecting choices that respect his stubborn personality while pushing him to reflect on his life. During Rank 2, answering with "None of your business" followed by an apology yields the best initial progress. At Rank 3, admitting that you do not have friends satisfies his cynical worldview.
For intermediate ranks, focus on practical and direct responses when conversing at the bar. Selecting options like saying you get by financially or suggesting he should head home helps deepen your rapport. In later ranks when he discusses his past family life, encourage him to face his responsibilities rather than run away.
Social Link Schedule and Max Rank Rewards
Mutatsu is available exclusively during evening hours on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Bringing a matching Persona of the Tower Arcana significantly increases the relationship points gained during each visit. Spending time with him during these days helps maximize your night schedule throughout the campaign.
Reaching Rank 10 with Mutatsu fully resolves his personal journey and unlocks the Reserve Tag item. This key item allows players to fuse Chi You, one of the most formidable Ultimate Personas in the game. Managing this link early provides exceptional combat advantages for the late game.
